Wrinkle relaxers

Wrinkle-relaxing injections for the forehead, the frown lines between the brows and the crow's feet, dosed to a written plan so the lines soften and your face still moves.

  • A written plan with the unit count and the price before anything is injected.
  • Conservative dosing that keeps natural expression, with a refinement visit at two weeks included.
  • $13 per unit, no minimums, no packages you did not ask for.
  • Injected by a nurse practitioner or a registered nurse, with a physician in the building.

Why it works

The dose is the decision.

Looking rested is a dose decision, not a product decision.

Botox and Dysport are both botulinum toxin products that relax the muscles pulling a line into the skin. The difference between a face that looks rested and a face that looks done is almost never the product. It is how many units went where, and whether anyone stopped to ask what you wanted to keep.

That is why the dose is written down before you sit in the chair. A frown line that bothers you in photographs may need twelve units; a forehead you like animated may need none. The plan says which, and you can take it home.

What we do, and what we do not

We do

  • Treat the frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet, and the smaller areas (bunny lines, a lip flip, a gummy smile, chin dimpling, platysmal bands) when they are in the plan.
  • Photograph you at rest and in expression before the first visit and again at two weeks.
  • Start lower on a first visit and add at the refinement visit if the photographs say so.

We do not

  • Add units in the room that were not in the plan.
  • Sell you a package of visits before you have had one.
  • Treat you if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a neuromuscular condition or are unwell on the day. We will say so and rebook.

Results vary from person to person. Nothing on this page is a guarantee of outcome, and a treatment may be declined if it is not right for you.

Stories

Written examples, not reviews.

Illustrative stories. Velvet Fern is a fictional studio; these are written examples, not patient reviews.

I asked for my forehead to be frozen. Priya showed me the photographs and suggested the frown lines first. Two weeks later I did not want the forehead done at all.

Illustrative story, first visit

Twenty-four units, written down, $312. That is what I paid.

Questions people ask before they book

How many units of Botox do I need?

A first plan is usually 20 to 40 units across one to three areas, and many first-time patients need less than they expect. Our guide on units gives typical ranges by area. The plan gives you your number.

Botox or Dysport?

Both relax the muscle; Dysport tends to spread a little more and some people feel it starts sooner. We recommend one in the plan based on the area and what you have had before, and we price them so the choice is clinical, not financial.

How long does it last?

Most people see the effect ease between three and four months. Results vary, and we do not book your next visit until you have seen how long yours lasts.

Will my face still move?

Yes, if the plan is followed. We dose to soften the line, not to stop the muscle, and we would rather add a few units at two weeks than have you wait three months for movement to come back.

Can I go back to work afterwards?

Most people do. There are small marks for an hour or so and bruising is possible. Avoid lying flat, rubbing the area and hard exercise for the rest of the day; Camille will go through the list with you.
