Biostimulators

Collagen-stimulating injections such as Sculptra, planned as a series over months for gradual, broad firmness rather than a change you see on the day.

  • The number of sessions written into the plan before the first, with the total price.
  • Gradual change over three to six months, with photographs at every stage.
  • From $899 per vial, no series sold before the plan is written.
  • Nurse practitioner led, physician reviewed.

Why it works

The dose is the decision.

For the person who wants the change to be hard to name.

Biostimulators do not fill. They prompt your own collagen to rebuild over months, so the change is broad and slow and nobody can point to a feature that has been done. That makes them right for some faces and wrong for others, which is why the plan decides, not the product.

Because the result is cumulative, we photograph before every session and compare, and the plan can be shortened if the first two sessions have done enough.

What we do, and what we do not

We do

  • Plan the full series, then review after each session and shorten it if we can.
  • Combine with a small amount of filler only where the plan says and only on a separate visit.
  • Teach you the massage routine for the days after, and check in by phone.

We do not

  • Treat the lips or under the eyes with biostimulators.
  • Promise a timeline. Collagen builds at its own pace.
  • Sell a series before you have had the Face Map.

Results vary from person to person. Nothing on this page is a guarantee of outcome, and a treatment may be declined if it is not right for you.

Stories

Written examples, not reviews.

Illustrative stories. Velvet Fern is a fictional studio; these are written examples, not patient reviews.

Nothing to see at the first visit, which they warned me about. At four months people asked if I had changed something and could not say what.

Illustrative story, biostimulator series

The plan said three sessions. After two the photographs were enough and they cancelled the third.

Questions

Questions people ask before they book

What is Sculptra?

A poly-L-lactic acid biostimulator that prompts the skin to build its own collagen over several months. We use it and similar products descriptively named in your plan.

How many sessions do I need?

Usually two to three, four to six weeks apart. The plan sets the number and we review after each session.

When will I see a result?

Gradually over three to six months. There is little to see on the day. Results vary.

How long does it last?

The collagen you build is your own; many people see the effect last up to two years. Results vary.

Is it painful?

The product is mixed with a local anaesthetic and most people describe pressure rather than pain. Swelling and bruising are possible, and you will be given a massage routine for the days after.
