Dermal filler

Hyaluronic acid filler for the cheeks, jawline, chin and under the eyes, with the syringe count and the price written into a whole-face plan before the first syringe is opened.

  • A plan for the face, not an area, so one syringe is not asked to do the work of three.
  • Syringe count and price agreed in writing before the visit.
  • Treated in stages where it should be, with a refinement visit at two weeks included.
  • Reversal agent in every room and a physician in the building.

Why it works

The dose is the decision.

The face you want back is usually a structure problem, not a surface one.

Flattened cheeks, a soft jawline, a recessed chin and hollows under the eyes are mostly about support that has shifted with time. Filler replaces that support in small amounts, in the right plane, and the plan says how many syringes, where, and in which order.

We would rather plan two visits a month apart than place three syringes in one. It costs the same, swells less, and lets the two-week photographs guide the second visit.

By area

Sections, not separate treatments. One plan covers them.

Where we place it

Cheeks

Restores the support that lifts the mid-face and softens the fold beside the nose. Usually one to two syringes across both sides.

Jawline

Defines the angle and the line from ear to chin. Often one to two syringes, sometimes combined with the chin.

Chin

Brings a recessed chin forward and balances the profile. Usually one syringe.

Under eye

The most conservative area we treat. Small amounts, a cannula where possible, and sometimes the answer is to treat the cheek instead. The plan will say.

Restraint

The things we will not do are part of the price.

What we do, and what we do not

We do

  • Photograph from standard angles and plan the whole face, even when you came in about one area.
  • Stage larger plans over two visits.
  • Use a cannula where it reduces bruising and risk.

We do not

  • Open a syringe that is not in the plan.
  • Treat under the eyes when the cheek is the real cause.
  • Treat during an active infection, within two weeks of dental work, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Results vary from person to person. Nothing on this page is a guarantee of outcome, and a treatment may be declined if it is not right for you.

Stories

Written examples, not reviews.

Illustrative stories. Velvet Fern is a fictional studio; these are written examples, not patient reviews.

I booked for under my eyes. The plan was cheeks first and it fixed the thing I was worried about.

Illustrative story, cheek filler

Two syringes over two visits instead of three in one. Same price, far less swelling, and the second visit was shorter than I expected.

Questions people ask before they book

How many syringes of filler do I need?

A typical plan is one to three syringes, and larger plans are staged over two visits. The plan gives you the count and the total before anything is opened.

Does cheek filler make your face look bigger?

Not when it is placed for support rather than volume. We photograph before and at two weeks so you can see the difference yourself, and we would rather under-treat and add than the reverse.

Is under eye filler safe?

It is the most delicate area we treat and the one where we most often recommend something else. When it is in the plan it is done in small amounts, often with a cannula, by the nurse practitioner, with the medical director available.

How long does dermal filler last?

Commonly nine to eighteen months depending on the area and product. Results vary. Biostimulators are an alternative where you want gradual change over a longer period.

What are the risks?

Bruising and swelling are common and short-lived. Rare risks include infection, lumps and, very rarely, filler entering a blood vessel. We keep hyaluronidase in every room, drill the occlusion protocol, and go through the risks with you before you sign the plan.
