Lip filler

Hyaluronic acid lip filler planned in half syringes, so definition and softness come first and volume only if you want it. The plan says how much; you decide where to stop.

  • Half-syringe plans as standard, because most lips need less than a full one.
  • A written plan with the amount and the price before any injection.
  • A two-week refinement visit included, where a little more can be added if you want it.
  • Dissolving enzyme in every room, and an injector who will use it if you ask.

Why it works

The dose is the decision.

The lips people are afraid of were not planned. They were sold.

The overfilled lip almost always comes from the same place: a full syringe used because a full syringe was bought, and nobody stopping to look. Our plan is written in halves. The first half restores the border and the shape; the second is added only if the two-week photographs and you both say so.

We inject with as few points as the plan allows, slowly, with numbing cream and ice. Bruising and swelling are still possible with any lip injection, and we tell you that before you book, not after.

Restraint

The things we will not do are part of the price.

What we do, and what we do not

We do

  • Define the border, correct asymmetry, restore softness that has thinned with age, or add modest volume.
  • Plan in half-syringe steps with the price of each step written down.
  • Dissolve filler from elsewhere before building new, if the plan calls for it.

We do not

  • Use a full syringe because it was purchased.
  • Treat lips that have been filled elsewhere within the last four weeks, or during an active cold sore.
  • Promise a shape. Lips swell and settle differently; the refinement visit is where the final shape is set.

Results vary from person to person. Nothing on this page is a guarantee of outcome, and a treatment may be declined if it is not right for you.

Stories

Written examples, not reviews.

Illustrative stories. Velvet Fern is a fictional studio; these are written examples, not patient reviews.

Half a syringe. I kept asking if that was enough and she kept saying we could add at two weeks. We did not need to.

Illustrative story, lip filler

I had filler dissolved from another place first. That was its own appointment and nobody made me feel stupid about it.

Questions people ask before they book

How much lip filler do I need?

Most first plans are half a syringe to one syringe. We write the amount into the plan, start with the first half, and add at the two-week visit only if you want more.

How long does lip filler last?

Commonly six to twelve months, depending on the product, the amount and how your body breaks it down. Results vary.

Will my lips bruise and swell?

Swelling is expected for a few days and bruising is possible. We use slow technique, few injection points, numbing and ice, and we tell you what to avoid in the week before to reduce it.

Can lip filler be removed?

Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. We stock it in every treatment room and will use it if you ask, including on filler done elsewhere.

Can someone come with me?

Yes. One person is welcome in the consultation and the treatment room.
